Istanbul, Turkey: one of the oldest capitals in Europe, Istanbul has dominated Bosporus Strait for 25 centuries. Kusadasi, Turkey: gateway to Ephesus, one of the best-preserved archeological sites in the classical world. Rhodes, Greece: in Old Town visit the Palace of the Grand Masters, paved with superb mosaics. Walk the Street of the Knights.

Alexandria/Cairo, Egypt: a juxtaposition of ancient culture and modern influences, Alexandria is Egypt's second largest city and portal to Cairo and the pyramids of Giza. Corfu, Greece: fortresses flank your entrance to this most beautiful of the Ionians. Lose yourself in the Venetian old town or head north for dramatic seascapes. Dubrovnik, Croatia: located on the picturesque Adriatic coast, the ancient walled city of Dubrovnik is a UNESCO World Heritage Site boasting exquisite structures dating back to the 13th, 14th and 15th centuries.
